Project Outline

This project involves designing a bag for a shop that has a particular interest to the students. Boys and girls enjoy this project because it gives them a chance to design the style of bag they would like their favourite items in. The handle design gives them a good opportunity to carry out experiments and test. The design on the bag gives them a chance to experiment with different media and methods of application.

Resources & Practical Tips
Tools & Resources- drawing boards, craft knives and scalpels, safety rules, eyelet maker and accessories which can be purchased from any haberdashery shop

Materials- A3 and A2 thin card or 170gm paper for the bags (it’s a good idea to buy take away carry bags from a supermarket so they can practice), coloured papers (some transparent) for making designs, poster paints, various glues such as Pritt-stick and spray-mount, a few string types which can also be got from a haberdashery shop, Fine line and felt pens. These resources can be endless. Suffice as to say “anything which you feel will make the designs more creative!”
